The origin of cellulose acetate dates back to the late 19th century.
Since then, this type of plastic has been produced industrially in two processes. The basis of the fabric are cotton fibers, which are very tear-resistant due to their high density.
By admixing certain other substances, compliance with temperatures and
drying phases, this results in a viscous mass, which is then dyed. This
colored plate is, after cooling, shredded into small pieces of granules
and rolled again with a different mass of cellulose acetate.
