In an attempt to streamline the production process of smoked salmon, an experiment was initiated where salmon were forced to smoke pipe tobacco. This caused a stir in the salmon pond and led to large protests among the salmon, who all chose to protest by pointing their pipes. And as everyone knows, people and fish who point with their pipes are always right. The experiment therefore went up in smoke.
