Green Denim
ENG// Almost every pair of jeans out there is made from non-organic, non-sustainable cotton and goes hand in hand with the usage of enormous amounts pesticides & water, trade injustice and exploitation. A lot of these jeans undergo a very harmfull process for people & planet: bleaching, sandblasting, stonewashing or sun lamps. One pair of jeans takes up to 10 000 liters of water; from the production of raw material to the finished product. Fortunately, there are more and more brands who create sustainable denim: eco fiendly and fairly made.
NL// Bijna elk paar jeans is gemaakt van niet-organisch, niet-duurzaam katoen en dat betekent: het gebruik van veel pesticiden & water, onterechte handel en uitbuiting. De schadelijke processen (bleken, zandstralen, stonewashing of zonnelampen) dat deze jeans ondergaan zijn bovendien erg schadelijk voor de arbeiders & de planeet. Voor één paar 'doorsnee' jeans gebuikt men gemiddeld zo’n 10 000 liter water; vanaf de productie van de grondstoffen tot het finaal product. Confronterende hoeveelheden als je het ons vraagt. Gelukkig zijn er meer en meer merken die kiezen om denim milieuvriendelijk & sociaal verantwoord te produceren.

ENG// At SWAY we offer only eco & fair denim. Our main brand supplier of jeans is Kings of Indigo. Their vision is to create clothing in a sustainable way without compromising on quality. They use recycled yarns where they can and combine these with the finest organic cotton to make quality garments. On top of that, they recently decided to go fully vegan. Yay!
NL// Bij SWAY kiezen we enkel voor eco & fair jeans. Onze hoofdleverancier voor denim is Kings of Indigo. Hun visie stoelt op het duurzame gedachtegoed zonder in te boeten aan kwaliteit. Waar mogelijk gebruiken ze gerecycleerde garen in combinatie met kwalitatief biologisch katoen. Bovendien zijn ze sinds kort volledig vegan. Yay!

They recently started a denim collection with fantastic cuts. Our favourites are Mairaa & Fjellaa. ;)
